Welcome the onto thy blog!

Well hello ther. What is a person like you doing at a blog like this?

Just wanted to make a short welcome messagee.

A little bit about myself. My name is Aaron the Great. There is a great story behind that name so if you wish to know it, then please leave a comment in the comments section below this message. I'm in my 50's and I have been disabled since 2016. I have been married to my wife Desiree since 1997. This coming June it will be 29 years of marriage. That says a lot about Desi. We've been a couple for 31 years and she has not murdered me! I have probabaly given her reason to think about that from time to time. Also living with us is our 23 year old son Dakota and our 19 year old daughter Faith.

Dakota has high functioning autisim and Aspergers Syndrome. He got that from me. Faith is pretty much normal for a teen age girl. I'm extremely proud of both of our kids. Me and Desi are very lucky because its the first marriage for both of us and there are no children outside of our marriage. So we are blessed for not having to deal with custody battles, or divorces. Me and Desi both come from divorsed parents so we know what that is like.

We live in Midwest City, Oklahoma, which is a suburb of Oklahoma City. Our house is 6 miles directly east of downtown OKC. Our house is small but its almost paid off. I think that we have about 6 years left on the mortgage.

I started playing around with a scroll saw right agter we moved into our house. For the first time in my life I had a garage and I wanted to use it for woodworking. Then I got carried away from wood working by working, baseball and cub scouts for Dakota and dance, drama and Girl Scouts for Faith. Now both kids are adults and after a bunch of different surgeries, I decide to get back int woodworking as a form of physicle therapy.

In October I cleaned up my workshop. My workshop is just 1/2 of a single car garage. About 100 square feet. Inside that small space I have:

  • 1971- 12" Craftsman Bandsaw
  • 1997- Dremel - My wife Desiree bought me this Dremel for our first Christmas after getting married. I still use this nearly every day it still works now as good as it did 27 years ago. It still has the orginal brushes in it!
  • ????- Tabletop drill press of unknown name or year
  • 2004- A 2'X 4' plywood workbench that me and my mother in law found on the side of the road so we grabbed it and put it in her mini van and brough it home. I would not really fit in the van because we had the sliding door and back hatch open!
  • 2005-10" 3HP Craftsman jobsite tablesaw
  • 2025- 22" Bauer Scroll Saw
  • A multitude collection of different hand tools including a wooden sanding block that I bought at TG&Y in 1994!
Most od my woodworking is done on my scroll saw. That fits in really nice with my small shop. I love to do other types of woodworking but I'm not very good at it. I'm really no more than an oaf who can follow a line on a scroll saw.

I hope that you feel welcomed.
Please leave a comment, and scubribe
